Surgical department #11 (sepsis) - 30 beds

The department has 3 doctors, 8 nurses.

The department began its work on 07.01.2013. It consists of a ward block for 30 beds, which functions in conjunction with the ICU department No. 7 for 6 beds and an operating block.

Activities:

The main activity of the department is the provision of highly specialized surgical medical care to patients with complicated oncological diseases of various localizations, including those complicated by surgical infection.

• Diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the gastrointestinal tract (esophagus, stomach, duodenum and pancreas, tumors of the retroperitoneal space, colon and rectum), lung neoplasms, mediastinum, esophagus, stomach, chest wall, skin, tumors of the female genital area;
• Performing the whole range of surgical operations on the organs of the gastrointestinal tract, lungs, malignant tumors of the breast, tumors of the female genital area in patients with complications in the course oncological process;
• Performing symptomatic and palliative operations for tumors of the gastrointestinal tract, tumors of the female genital area, chest organs: aimed at improving patients’ quality of life (gastroenterostomy, gastrostomy, colostomy, nephrostomy);
• Rehabilitation of patients after surgical treatment of oncological process;
•Extensive operations with resection of adjacent organs.

Applied methods:

• A treatment technique based on prolonged local exposure to negative pressure (vacuum therapy).

Scientific directions:

• Development of new methods of surgical rehabilitation of patients after oncological operations;
• The employees of the department are actively engaged in scientific activities, develop and implement new technologies for the treatment of complicated oncological pathology.
